About This Vehicle
Now offered is the “Green Goddess,” a 1956 Ford F-100 Big Window pickup that has been completely transformed by the renowned Heath Murray of Murray Kustom Rods. This exceptional build began with an ultra-clean, rust-free 1956 F-100 Custom Cab and was finished in a stunning Meadow Mist Green. A period-correct color that suits the truck perfectly. Over 350 hours went into crafting this truck into a period-inspired showpiece that blends classic style with modern reliability. The result is a head-turning hot rod that’s as comfortable cruising the streets as it is winning awards at shows.
Power comes from a crate Blueprint 347 stroker V8 producing over 450 horsepower, detailed to resemble a high-end Ford hot rod engine from the late 1950s. It features Thunderbird-style valve covers and air cleaner, all custom painted with period-correct styling. The drivetrain is backed by a TCI Ford AOD automatic transmission with a TCI torque converter and a custom Moser 9-inch street/strip posi rear end with 3.50 gears. Stopping power comes from Wilwood 4-piston disc brakes at all four corners, paired with a Wilwood master cylinder and power steering. Suspension upgrades include a Sid’s dropped axle and Posies rear leaf springs, giving the truck a commanding lowered stance. Fuel, brake, and transmission systems have all been updated, and the truck features Vintage Air heat and air conditioning for comfort in any season.
Inside, the cab has been insulated with Dynomat and features a beautiful hand-tooled leather interior created by western artist Cody Hixon. Classic Instruments gauges were custom-finished to match the aesthetic, and a hidden Bluetooth audio system was installed by Titan Automotive in Nashville. Other modern amenities include electric power windows with factory-style crank actuators, a hidden power plug for trickle charging, and halogen headlights that retain the original look.
Adding to its uniqueness are rare factory-style accessories including a flying bird hood ornament, original-style seat belts with correct retainers, a passenger side spotlight, and seldom-seen factory front tow hooks. Even the genuine 1950s hula girl on the dash and cowgirl suicide knob bring character and charm to the cabin—and may be negotiable with the sale.
This F-100 starts easily, idles smoothly, and offers a driving experience that is both refined and ferocious. It’s docile enough for weekend cruising yet built to handle high-performance demands. Trucks from Murray Kustom Rods typically start at $250,000 with waitlists stretching years. This is a rare opportunity to skip the line and own a completed example of Murray’s finest craftsmanship—ready to enjoy, show, and drive.
