Description
This 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera is #18 of 65 Targa models equipped with the US-specification M491 Turbo Look package for the model year, and it is finished in Meteor Grey Metallic over Burgundy leather. It is powered by a 3.2-liter flat-six paired with a 915 five-speed manual transaxle, and additional equipment includes an RR Racing exhaust system, 17 Lindsey Fuchs-style alloy wheels, Bilstein shocks, a removable Targa roof panel, air conditioning, central locking, an alarm system, a MOMO steering wheel, a Kenwood CD stereo, power windows, and a metal pedal set. The M491 option was first introduced in 1984 and features wider front and rear fenders as well as front and rear spoilers from the contemporary 911 Turbo. This example is said to be the first M491 Targa finished in Meteor Grey Metallic (L961), and it features a black removable targa roof panel, a single exhaust outlet, and heated power-adjustable side mirrors. The Carfax report lists an accident in January 1998, and the seller reports that the left mirror was replaced as a result. A ceramic coating has been applied, and clear paint-protection film covers the bodywork. The polished 17 Lindsey Fuchs-style alloy wheels feature bright centers, anodized lips, and black recesses, and they are mounted with Continental ExtremeContact tires. M491 equipment includes Turbo-specification brakes, anti-roll bars, trailing arms, and torsion bars. Bilstein shocks have been installed. The seats are upholstered in Burgundy leather, and amenities include an alarm system, air conditioning, central locking, a Kenwood CD stereo, and power windows. A metal pedal set has been installed. The MOMO Prototipo steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as a replacement 150-mph speedometer, a Quarz clock, and gauges for oil level, oil pressure, oil temperature, and fuel level. The 3.2-liter M930/21 flat-six was factory rated at 202 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. An RR Racing exhaust system has been installed.
